FIVE prominent business leaders were celebrated for their innovative visions and value creation for their stakeholders at the 38th Singapore Business Awards, jointly organised by The Business Times (BT) and DHL Express.
Hi-P International executive chairman Yao Hsiao Tung took home the top award, Businessman of the Year, for growing the company into one of Singapore’s most diversified contract manufacturers, serving several industries.
The other winners were:
- Outstanding Chief Executive of the Year: Lim Chung Chun, chairman and CEO of iFast Corporation;
- Outstanding Overseas Executive Award: Teo Swee Ann, founder, president, and CEO of Espressif Systems;
- Young Business Leader of the Year: Zhou Lihan, co-founder and CEO of Mirxes; and
- Enterprise Award: Goldbell Group.
Winners of the annual awards were decided by an 11-member panel led by former Singapore Airlines chairman Stephen Lee.
The awards ceremony was held this year on Jul 25 at The Ritz-Carlton, Millenia Singapore, with Education Minister Chan Chun Sing as the guest of honour.
In a fireside chat with Christopher Ong, senior vice-president and managing director of DHL Express Singapore, the minister gave his insights on upskilling, aggregating supply and demand, and artificial intelligence.
